Amanda Lewis and Katy Ringstad joined other RMU doctoral students on a service learning trip to Nicaragua. Both Chartiers’ nurses are pursuing degrees as family nurse practitioners in a program at RMU that serves people across K amanda Nicaragua tripthe lifespan. Taking time from their busy work and school schedules Amanda and Katy joined Dr. Carl Rossi for the “Nicaragua Experience.”
Their experience took them into the homes of the barrio in Nicaragua where they were able to do physical, developmental and environmental assessments on the children and their families. Ultimately delivering healthcare to the children and educating the families was at the heart of their experience.Katy Nicaragua trip
