At Chartiers Center, monies raised will be used to support consumers in the Hestia Program that serves chronically homeless consumers with a mental health diagnosis. Donations will help consumers like Carol, who with the help of Holly Sonney her Service Coordinator, got her first apartment in May 2015. Below is Carol’s story. In her own words she shares that as a recovering addict she has been homeless on and off for 7 years. She is quoted as saying her mother told her she would die with her shoes on her feet.
She is pictured on the left holding the key to her first apartment. Carol has remained in her apartment and is ready to celebrate her 1 year anniversary.
