What services do you provide?
Chartiers has grown its service offerings to include a wide range of programs, service lines and locations to serve consumers with behavioral health needs and their families, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Services include: intake, referral, outpatient therapy, psychiatric assessment and medication monitoring, case management services, training and social rehabilitative services, crisis intervention, partial hospitalization, student assistance programs in local schools, community outreach, day and recreational programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What are your hours?
The main office is open from 9am to 7pm Monday through Thursday and from 9Am to 5pm on Friday.
What does a Service Coordinator do, or what can they do for me?
Service Coordinators link consumers to community resources to get help with their issues ie: transportation, housing, food, benefits etc. Service Coordinators do not provide transportation to appointments and do not have the ability to move people up on a waiting list for services. They do provide 24/7 crisis intervention. Service Coordinators help consumers avoid hospitalization and maintain people in a lower level of care.
How can I get a referral for a mental health housing program?
All housing referrals need to be initiated by a Service Coordinator. If you currently do not have a Service Coordinator, please call 412.221.3302, extension 105 or 124 and ask to speak to a Service Coordinator to discuss housing.
How do I get someone into your IDD programs?
Please contact your Supports Coordinator for referral and to arrange for funding.
Do I need to wait until my child is 21 to get them involved in IDD Day services at Chartiers?
No, we offer Transitioning Services from school beginning at age 18. Additionally, if space allows, we do provide Extended School Year (ESY) Services during the summer. For more information and to schedule a tour, call the IDD Department at (412) 344-7155.
What age do you take kids for case management services?
Chartiers Center provides case management services for children 3 and up. Before their 3rd birthday, children can be seen at Alliance for Infant and Toddlers.
How old do children have to be to receive outpatient services?
Chartiers Center provides outpatient services to children 6 and up.
Can I see a doctor for medication only?
The services we provide require seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist. The therapist will work with each consumer to develop a treatment plan which helps to guide the treatment received and to coordinate all necessary services.
Do I have to get my medication filled through Genoa Pharmacy?
Chartiers Center has an agreement with Genoa Pharmacy and houses a Clinical Medication Coordinator in the administrative office. This individual assists in the coordination of medication dispensed through Genoa and can also complete blood draw for required blood work. All Chartiers Center consumers not residing in the residential programs have the option of choosing Genoa or another pharmacy of their choice.
