Amy Pollock, Social Rehabilitation Specialist at Chartiers’ Training and Social Rehabilitation Program in Mt. Lebanon, is pictured delivering hoagies to the HR Department in Bridgeville. The hoagies are being sold as a fundraiser for the T&SR Program. According to one consumer, “We were able to raise a substantial amount of money selling hoagies, to pay for future outings. Since some of our trips require entrance fees, fundraisers will help us to pay the entrance fee into such events. Future outings may include: trips to miniature golf, museums, and other places. Getting out into the community is important to our groups, as it provides an opportunity for us to practice our social rehabilitation skills that we learn in T&SR.” The program does take advantage of free activities and has made requests for free tickets, but the fundraisers will remain vital to the program. The consumer continued, “We plan on continuing our fundraising efforts throughout the year, which may include selling cheesecake, Yankee Candles and Polish pierogis!” The Chartiers Center staff can’t wait to see what they come up with next. We look forward to hearing more about the places they visit.
